Michael Wilson

Photo: Michael Wilson

Lyle Lovett comes to Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre on Saturday. Look for a full story in Extra that day. Until then, check out this podcast. We talk about his songs, some of his favorite songwriters, his band (including sometime sideman Gene Elders, a oanoke native) guitar playing and working with producer/director the late Robert Altman.

We talk about a whole lot more, too.

Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan coming to Salem Civic Center on Feb. 4

Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean

Looks like Salem Civic Center is trying to go head-to-head with Roanoke Civic Center these days. Just after RCC announced its on-sale date for Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum tickets, its neighbor to the west announced that another pair of country music hitmakers, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, are headed to the Salem shed.

The Aldean show is Feb. 4. Tickets go on sale Monday at the Salem Civic Center box office, 375-3004, and ticketmaster.com. Prices are listed at $34.75 and $29.75.

Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum tickets go on sale Nov. 6

As we reported last week, Tim McGraw headlines a show at Roanoke Civic Center on Feb. 19.

The civic center announced today that tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at the venue's ticket office, at RoanokeCivicCenter.com and by phone at (877) 722-8496. According to a civic center news release, get information about the online ticket request period and general public on-sale dates at timmcgraw.com.

Tickets will also be on sale at LiveNation.com, according to a news release from that promoter.

No word yet on ticket prices. Will update.
