Remembering Keith Carper: Interview with Gene and Betty Elders

Among the first people to contact us here after the death of Roanoke native and bass player Keith Carper were Gene and Betty Elders. Here is our interview with them. Look for a story in this morning's Virginia section of The Roanoke Times.

Betty Elders made this blog, where you can keep track of plans for the Nov. 17 memorial service for Carper -- keithcarper.com. Hear some of Carper's playing at myspace.com/keithcarpermemorialpage.

About this blog

cutNscratch is The Roanoke Times music blog. Music reporter Tad Dickens enjoys pickin' and grinnin' and drummin', and he likes to write about music, too. He'll post plenty about local, regional and national music, but it won't be any fun at all if you don't jump in and have your say. So do it! | Read more about Tad.
