Heads-up: Homefolks Southern Culture on the Skids coming to Roanoke Nov. 20
The beloved SCoTS, featuring former Roanokers Mary Huff and Dave Hartman, hits the Taubman Museum of Art on Nov. 20, to help the museum celebrate its first anniversary.
Show details: 7 p.m. Nov. 20. Taubman Museum of Art Atrium & Auditorium. $35. scots.com, taubmanmuseum.org.
Now, to rip on the Taubman a little bit. I got this information through two third-party sources, including Huff's mother. Way to publicize your event, Taubman.
Anyway ... check out a couple of podcasts with the band. From 2006, with the full band | From 2007, with Hartman

Yeah I caught word of this on Saturday night through the grapevine as well. They need to get on this promo thing if they want anyone to come out and support their events.

Cool, I will try to make it out to that.
And yeah, hope they promote this well.
The 'Battle of the Bands' held a couple months ago wasn't promoted much, in my opinion, and I believe the attendance suffered for it.

I only found out that Taubman is having bands b/c of Tad's blogs and word of mouth on Facebook. Agreed more promotion is needed. I know people will complain about the ticket prices regardless, they did for Battle of the Bands too. Seems lots of people view bands as free background music to drink to, which hurts the quality venues we have that sell tickets for their shows.

That's funny. There was an ad for it in your paper Friday and it's in the Useful Paper for November. And City Mag. And I think I saw it in Bella, too. And I got an invite on Facebook. Too bad they're not promoting it.

Keep in mind, Marscapone, that this post and the following comments date to early October. Good to know they're on it now, of course.
