Only 70 minutes to get your election-sweep guess in.....
The winner will receive a copy of the book "Obama's Blackberry" by Kasper Hauser.
The back of the book says: "Acclaimed comedy team Kasper Hauser has cracked the code with this irreverant and wildly imaginative parody of our 44th presidents e-mails and text messages."
Here's one of those faux e-mails:
From: Bill Clinton
To: Barack Obama
Subject: Your Middle East Policy Question

I am not sure if the huge percentage gap was due to the publicity regarding Deeds speech impediment, or just the fact that regardless of Republican or Democratic status, Americans are tired of the careless and reckless spending coupled with the disregard of the wishes of the general population. The tremendous spending by our Federal Government threatens the future of economic stability for each taxpaying individual as well as those who live off of our tax revenues. Health care reform, health insurance reform, whatever it may be called tomorrow is a great idea. Being the richest nation in the world, no one should be without healthcare. However the government is not the most efficient or even the most practical to administer this healthcare or insurance. America can not take care of their current obligations for the Veterans, who deserve free health care more than anyone else, and Medicare. Does anyone believe that the Government run healthcare for the general public will become more effective than for the existing obligations? Well if you point to the proposed savings, how about take care of the fraud and savings now and come back in a year for the rest of the population.
But atleast my daddy Dan will have the backing of Obama to bail out the Roanoke Times and keep him employed. Yet another job created or saved.

Go Red Elephants. I mean the spread must be due to the negative attack ads or the candidates parading with brooms. Maybe it is due to the careless spending, disregard for public opionion, and lack of tangible results. Promises are made to be broken and Republican and Democrats are breaking them like fine china. Where is the transparency other than in the campaign promises of last year? Where is the conservitism? Take care of your current obligations before taking on the new. In our households, I mean those who did not feast on the credit cards and houses we could not afford, have to cut back when we do not have the funds for our wants, and save for them. However the government just asks for a raise or for more printing. They are ruining our future. The government is not efficient in running a business. Look at the VA and Medicare. Healthcare for the general public will not be different. Fund your current obligations. Then incur more.
Thanks Dan for this forum.

A moderator's note: D.Casey Jr. (above) is unrelated to me, but is VERY related to Big Momma (also above). Those messages are coming from the same IP address.
Folks, feel free to say what you want on these forums, swear words (and certain others) excluded. There is plenty of anonymity. But what is the point of pretending to be two different people at the same time? So you can use TWO anonymous identities to gang up on somebody with only one?
Let's stick with one identity and everything will be much clearer.

I think all Republicans should thank Obama, Biden, Pelosi, and Reid. They all did an effective job of campaigning. Let's just hope they continue to push their agenda, that they don't start hiding what they are, and that they get out and campaign for the Democrats next fall. The "Fantastic 4" could be the greatest asset the Republican party has had since Jimmy Carter.

Well, lets see the forces of contempt evil and bigotry appear to have made almost a sweep of it.
Even Maine appears to have fallen to the Falwellian Reich. I hope they are proud of denying civil rights to others.
Hopefully by 2010 the Republican Party will have finished its splintering into right and far right and the D's can frame it better.
Deeds was a loss for a while, but both Maine and Jersey were less than easy runs. Upstate NY at least went a new direction. That should be a message for the R's about splitting the party. Add to that Virginia's race where a moderate R won and perhaps the crazy right can be put back into their cage by the regulars.

How surprising. A RW using multiple identities to give the impression that there are more of them than there actually are. Who would have thought it.

Oh, I don't know, "hiding what you are" seems to have worked out pretty well for M/B/C.

Dear Moderator,
You are correct the two posts were from the same individual. I mean they are almost word for word. I repeated the post after the first post was not showing some time after it was posted.
I thought maybe you did not get a kick out of the pseudonym of your offspring so I rephrased the message with another name.
Too bad the IP address gave it away, I am sure the identical messages would have slipped right past.
I still have an issue that not one person has taken issue with and that is the current level of spending. The republicans are just as guilty as the democrats. With all the government waste relating to fraud in the funded programs and other misuses, does anyone honestly believe that the act needs to be cleaned up before more spending on healthcare or stimulus takes place?
I do not think electing new representatives will change this, conservative or liberal, it is easier for the newly elected representatives to change than for the newly elected to change the culture of washington.

BM,
The posts don't show up until I "approve" them. That is the system we have chosen here -- I often wish it was the other way around, frankly.
Regarding spending, I don't disagree; it's very worrisome. Inflation is going to kill us, once unemployment eases and drops, unless they begin tightening up on the fiscal policies very soon.
