I got them all right! Woo hoo, happy dance. I do admit that two were a lucky guess (halloumi and cavolo nero).

Really I think this just means I watch too much food television. I would not have known tostones (plantains are not my favorites) if it wasn't part of the final elimination challenge on the last season of Top Chef filmed in Puerto Rico.

I failed miserably by missing 10 but then I don't really cook so maybe missing 10 isn't too bad! Coworker Anna missed 6 and coworker Ken missed 2. Ken complains that the two he missed (#6 and #11) were trick answers!

The only reason I knew pommes dauphin is because I took three years of French in high school and one of the few words I still recognize is the word for potato. Does that say something about my Irish heritage?
My father reports that he got a perfect score on the quiz. Of course, nobody was there to witness this... nah, I believe you, Dad.

I got six wrong!

I thought I would do a little better, I should've gotten remoulade, but I got it confused with roulade. And I had initially guessed right on Pomme dauphin, but then changed it. D'oh!

It was fun, thanks for the quiz.

I mixed up aioli and remoulade and sashimi and hamachi. I had never heard of cavolo nero or halloumi, but I guessed and got them right. Halloumi sounded like a Greek word to me, so I picked it for the cheese. Cavolo nero and the dark cabbage were the only ones left to match, so.....:-)
