Seriously, this is ridiculous
This is my granola bar. It's a Quaker "True Delights" Toasted Coconut Banana Macadamia Nut granola bar. And let me just say that it is delicious -- all two bites of it!
I don't want a granola bar the size of my leg, but seriously, look at this tiny thing. I had to place it next to my stapler for context. When you buy a box of these (they were on sale for $2.49 this week), you get five bars. And then you open them and they are miniscule. Hey, I think Barbie might be hungry, guys. If I give her one of these, she MIGHT have enough to share with Ken.
Maybe it's my imagination, but I still think we are getting less food for our money in some cases at the grocery store. Has anyone else continued to notice this? If so, got any specific product examples?
I have bought items with things missing lately...I bought a can of chicken noodle soup and there were no noodles, I am not kidding.
I bought an 8 pack of large burrito size tortillas and there were 7 (not good for a family of 4!)
Yes they are leaving a little out here and there and the outcome = huge savings for the company who makes them.
This is besides the "shrinkage" factor you have shown on the image.

I think that since prices on most everything keep going up and up that many manufacturers are just putting less in the container and leaving the price the same. Instead of raising the price once again. Which of course is the same thing. I noticed the other day that the Peter Pan Peanut Butter size that was 18oz is now 16.3oz! I agree w/ Shellie...if you make millions of jars of peanut butter and you cut the amount by 1.7oz, look at the extra $$ that is for the company! That's a free jar of PB to sell for $2 + every 10.5 jars or so. And Lindsey's miniature granola bar is another good example.

Prices are not going down but packages are getting smaller. Remember when a pound was 16 oz.? Coffee by the pound is really about 13 ozs. now. You can only buy 4 lbs of sugar instead of 5 lbs. My fear is you will be buying 8 eggs for the price of a dozen one of these days. Whatever happened to a baker's dozen (13)?

A package of ice cream no longer comes in a half gallon size. The boxes are tapered at the bottom. Coke now offers a 16oz size for the old 20 oz size price, plus you can not find 20 oz sizes outside of a vending machine. I have also noticed that Pop Tarts have less filling in them, with the price doubling in the past 2 years.

Granola bars and cereal boxes are the two I've noticed the most. I also discovered that my store brand yogurt is now 6oz instead of 8oz but the price is the same!
