Top wideout commits to UVa
Virginia has taken an oral commitment from Tim Smith, described by his coach at Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake as "the best wide receiver in the state."
Smith had 38 receptions for 886 yards and 20 touchdowns through the first eight games for undefeated Oscar Smith, rated the No. 14 team in the country by USA Today.
Smith, rated the No. 19 prospect in Virginia by roanoke.com, is the 21st player to commit to the Cavaliers, who earlier landed Oscar Smith linebacker Perry Jones.

I've seen Perry Jones play this season in Chesapeake, and he would be deserving of being picked as the Group AAA Player-Of-The-Year this season. He's really having a tremendous year. Not sure what position he'll play for UVa: running back, defensive back or kick-returner. He's not tall, but he's been unstoppable. A defensive back maybe for the Cavaliers?
