Four Hokies sign NFL free-agent deals
Four Virginia Tech players had signed NFL free-agent contracts as of midafternoon Monday.
The quartet includes defensive end Orion Martin (Miami), quarterback Sean Glennon (Minnesota), center Ryan Shuman (Green Bay) and fullback Devin Perez (Cincinnati).
Martin, who was confident he would be taken in Sunday's later rounds of the NFL Draft, signed with the Dolphins late Sunday night.
The Dolphins project the 260-pound Martin playing linebacker in the NFL. Martin knew Miami was interested in his services after the club conducted a private workout with him March 20, the day following Tech's Pro Day in Blacksburg.
Glennon, who ranked fifth in career passing yards (4,867) and was 18-8 as a starter at Tech, will be reunited with ex-Hokies quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers, who left Blacksburg following the 2005 season.

How do you explain Greg Toler (drafted 131) of tiny St. Paul's College being drafted earlier than any Virginia Tech player (157)?! Look at all of the money Virginia Tech puts in to football!!
Someone explain this to me.

Good players get missed all of the time. Some mature later than others and some just slip under the radar. John Engleberger was a walk-on and has had a 9 year NFL career. Sometimes you just never know.

I'm talking about Virginia Tech however.
How well is Tech developing players they recruit?

Tech had 15 players go to nfl camps in 2008 and in 2010 and 2011 they will have that many; When you have that many retuning starters it's going to happen.
