UVa baseball on TV

BETHESDA, Md. - Comcast SportsNet announced today it will air Game 1 of the Irvine Regional at the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship tonight live at 7 p.m. The game will feature second-seeded Virginia (43-12-1) against third-seeded San Diego State (40-21). Comcast is Channel 44 in Roanoke.
The network will also air Game 4 of the regional on Saturday live at 11 p.m. featuring the Game 1 winner vs. the Game 2 winner. On Sunday, May 31, Comcast SportsNet will air Games 5 and 6 live at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. respectively.
ESPNU also will have live coverage of the Friday game, as well as the entire Irvine Regional.
Virginia is slated to start RHP Robert Morey (2-0, 3.25 ERA) tonight, while San Diego State will counter with RHP Stephen Strasburg (13-0, 1.24), who is one of the top pitching prospects in the nation.

  5. Virginia is playing UC Irvine again right now on Justin.tv free on the internet! Virginia played UC Irvine on Saturday night (11 P.M. east coast time) and now is playing them on Sunday night (11 P.M. east coast time)!

    From rivals.com it says:
    "Virginia (45-12-1) advances to the regional championship game at 11 p.m. ET Sunday. The Cavaliers will face the winner of the UC Irvine-San Diego State game which precedes the championship game at 7 p.m. ESPNU and Comcast SportsNet each will have live coverage of both games."

  9. I watched the TimesSportsCast and have a couple of comments:

    1. While Virginia did get treated unfairly in the baseball seeding process they responded in the best way possbile (by Winning).

    2. Hokies say they don't care about spring sports because most years they are just not very good. I think last years support of the softball team proves they really do care and are starved for a little success off the gridiron.
