UVa's Hall doubtful for Saturday's game with TCU

So how will Virginia decide on Saturday’s starting quarterback?

The Cavaliers may be leaving that call to the trainer.

As UVa makes final preparations for Saturday’s home game with No. 16 Texas Christian, the Cavs are doing so with two of their top-three quarterbacks listed on the injury report.

The one hurting the most is senior Vic Hall, who started in UVa’s 26-14 loss to William and Mary on Saturday. In the injury report released by Virginia on Thursday, Hall was listed as doubtful due to a hip injury.

Meanwhile, senior Jameel Sewell, who played quarterback the majority of the second half for Virginia last weekend, is listed as probable despite a wrist injury.

That leaves the Cavaliers’ other tri-No. 1 QB, junior Marc Verica, as the only one of the three with no reported injuries.

(Ed's. note: sorry about the extra "r" in "doubtful" up in the headline of this posting, hence Dan's comment, hence the corrected spelling.)

  4. Greg, at half time last week I was going over the schedule while sitting in SCott Stadium and I am not sure if 2 wins is possbile. We may beat Duke. I will continue to go to the games and support the team, but I took down my flag and it will not fly at my house again until AL Groh is no longer in Charlottesville.

  5. DONT KNOW FOR SURE, BUT, MAYBE THAT HEAD COACH UP THERE BEST START LOOKING FOR A JOB AND THE AD SHOULD BE LOOKING AT THE RICHMOND COACH AS A REPLACEMENT. POOR UVA

  6. I think Virginia will eke out at least 5 wins again, which shouldn't be enough for Groh to keep his job. It is just not about wins and losses. It is about his whole persona. He does a very poor job in representing the University as the face of UVA football on all fronts--players, media, recruits, fans etc. He is just not cut out for the college game.

  7. 2-10 actually seems fairly plausible. 4-8 might be a stretch. If they actually get 6 wins or more, I'll be very surprised and checking the temperature of the earth's core.

  9. Mr. Littlepage, fire Groh Monday, replace him with anyone for the remainder of this season, do the necessary hiring dance where you interview a few candidates for the job, hire Derek Dooley, put the Groh nightmare in the rearview mirror, begin rebuilding the program from scratch. The ACC is weak, a winning record is possible in year two, a top 20 team in year three.
