  1. Another night of no offense for the Hokies. What a shame with all that talent. The offense looked like their 2d preseason scrimmage. Way to Stine!!
    PS. Great Blog !!!!!

  2. The overall stats looked solid in the end, but 16 points? Sheesh. Not going to cut it against better teams, like always.

  3. Looks like they moved the ball fairly well - Some self destruction - Tyrod at the goal line - Personal foul on another drive on a Williams 1st down 9 yd gain - Holding - ECU not a bad Defense - A win is a win!!

  4. Same old Hokies. Defense and Pirate mistakes (turnovers, penalties)win the game. Anemic offense. 5 scoring drives should have produced at least 3 touchdowns and 2 field goals = 27 points! Stineyball produces 1 TD, 3 FG for 13. Will not win against NC State or UVA with that offense!

  5. VT moved the ball very well and keeps stalling in the red zone. They need to have more than run-up-the-middle plays and throw the ball more down there. We run it like 6 out of 7 red zone plays, so opposing D's have an easy time defending. All in all, the first half was a bunch of missed opportunities again, with the goal line fumble and the 2 stalls resulting in FG's instead of TD's. The D stepped up though, which was good to see. They played an overall good game, but have to put up more points and convert that great field position to touchdowns.

  6. Prior to the game Beamer told a national TV audience that the weeks practice had been positive and productive putting the UNC game behind them. I hope they don't have a bad week of practice because that was the sloppiest, ugliest game I've seen. Only savior was that East Carolina was worse. EC did score, negated by a penalty, was in position in other times but shot themselves in the foot. Foster did make good halftime adjustments, Stinespring did not. I hope Tyrod learned a lesson from trying to reach the ball across the goalline.I've said this before, we need someone to step up and replace Wang at tackle. Missed blocks, penalties have cost us too much. But a win is a win, no matter how ugly.

  7. Tom, could not agree more about Wang. Several times the defender not only beat him off the ball, but just ran untouched around him on the way to the backfield. He looks like he has concrete shoes on, he's slow and anchored and does not pursue well. VT has had a problem with QB's doing the stretch thing. Just accept that you're going down at the 1 and do a punch play for the score on the next play. Goal line fumbles are the worst.

  8. With it all there is really only one that continues to DEMAND action above all others. For the Hokies to move above their present win most but lose ones they should not and look awful offensively in the process-- STINESPRING MUST GO!!! It is way past time for Beamer to toss his loyatly to his coaches(Stinespring) and recgonize his loyalty to us fans and suporters all these years!!

  9. It was a win, but another game example where the offensive coaching ( or lack of it ) showed we NEED NEW COACHES on offense !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The offensive line blocking ?? where was it ??? the disjointed play calling ??? the lack of QB coaching ??? Poor TT has to learn on his own, and if he does what O'Cain wants, he gets smashed in the pocket !!! Please, run, run, run, TT !!!!!
