Notes from Iraq

24JAN09--Election Preparations

For the past several days and the week to come, both the U.S. and Iraqi forces have been preparing for the upcoming January 31st elections in Iraq.  This historic election is said to be the most important event in Iraq for the last five years.

Even off hand observations of days from the recent present might be useful to enemies of Coalition Forces on Election Day.  Let alone details of activities.

I will cover the importance of these elections probably tomorrow.  But I will have to save observations until next month.

  2. Rich,
I also am looking forward to your comments. I expect you will see some of the same glee we witnessed. I hope so. It will be interesting to see if they dye the fingers again. They displayed their dyed fingers with huge grins on their face. Mike
