Christiansburg woman set to plead to 79 charges

A Christiansburg woman is set to plead guilty Friday in Radford Circuit Court to 79 charges of embezzlement, forgery and theft, according to a news release.

Valarie Rasnake, 44, is to be sentenced at 1 p.m. to 50 years in prison and pay $200,000 in restitution, the release stated. She will serve 10 years of the jail time, according to the release from Radford Commonwealth's Attorney Chris Rehak.

Between 2002 and 2004, Rasnake was also found guilty of a string of forgery and fraud charges in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
