Three new restaurants coming to downtown Blacksburg

By the end of summer, diners in downtown Blacksburg will have three new restaurant choices.

Rita’s Water Ice, a franchise Italian water ice and custard shop and Greens Restaurant and Sushi Bar are scheduled to open in 109 A and B College Avenue by mid-May.

Just around the corner on North Main Street, D.P. Dough, a franchise calzone restaurant is scheduled to open Aug. 1.

Rita's was scheduled to open earlier this year, but the date was pushed back due to construction delays. Greens is occupying the space that was formerly Pee Wee's Pit Barbecue, which closed in early April. D.P. Dough will be located in the former Emilio's restaurant, which has stood empty since the restaurant closed about four years ago.
