Gobbler Restaurant for sale, may reopen
The Gobbler Italian Restaurant & Pub, a pizza buffet and delivery on Kabrich Street in Blacksburg closed May 17 but may reopen after a pending sale.
If the sale goes through, the restaurant will reopen in August, said Gobbler general manager Ryan Payne.
The Gobbler’s owner, Matthew Leckie, moved to Ohio and “was on just on the edge about it, so just he decided to scrap it,” due to slow sales, Payne said.
Payne said the location is partially to blame because it’s hidden from main streets.
“This is one of the worst locations in Blacksburg,” Payne said.

I would have to guess that's why no establishment has stayed there for more than a handful of years, at best. It's not unlike the places that exist on the backside of downtown toward Progress Street. They aren't readily visible, and you hardly know they're there. If it's not on Main Street, Draper, College, Prices Fork, or UCB...no one in Blacksburg really knows it's there.

They should sell the building, tear it down, build a little apt building on the site and get into "slum-lording" with the rest of the Blacksburg elite.
or...
Tear it down, flatten the lot and build a motor scooter park, complete with looptie-loop and half pipe.
