Floyd County gets nearly 3 inches of rain

As of 8:15 a.m. Friday, the National Weather Service reports that Mountain View Church in Floyd County has measured 2.8 inches of rain in the past 24 hours -- the highest amount for any station in the New River Valley.

Copper Hill in Floyd has measured 2.44 inches.

The highest figure in Montgomery County is in Shawsville, with 1.72 inches.
