Salem police seek Radford man as bank robbery suspect
Salem police have taken out warrants against a man who they believe held up a bank on Monday.
Police are looking for Jason Bradley Davis, 29. He is accused of robbing the BB&T bank in the 200 block of South College Avenue. His last known address was in Radford, but police believe he may now be transient.
Authorities also released these two mug shots of Davis.
We have more on that story here in this breaking news report from Amanda Codispoti. We also have surveillance photos from Monday's robbery which you can see here.
Here's the full release from the Salem Police Department:
Detectives from the Salem Police Department have obtained arrest warrants in relation to the bank robbery that occurred on July 6, 2009 at the BB&T bank branch located in the 200 block of South College Avenue.
Warrants have been obtained for:
Jason Bradley Davis, white male, age 29, 5’11”, 200 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes.
Davis’ last known address was in Radford. It appears that Davis is currently living as a transient.
It is unknown what mode of transportation Davis is currently using.
The Warrants obtained are for the following charges:
- Bank Robbery
- Threats to Bomb
The second charge is in relation Davis’ reference to an explosive device that was communicated to the teller in his hold-up note.
The Salem Police Department is continuing to investigate the bank robbery that occurred on July 2, 2009 at the StellarOne bank branch located in the 1200 block of West Main Street. It has not been confirmed at this time if Davis was involved in that incident.
The Salem Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Davis. If anyone knows his whereabouts, they are asked to contact either the Salem Police Department Detective Division at 540-375-3083 or their local law enforcement agency. Davis should be considered armed and dangerous.

Last night on the news on WSLS 10 they showed a photograph of a man that was not Davis yet said it was him. I have been following this story and looking at photographs of Davis from his myspace account. Please keep your coverage right and not be like WSLS for people need to be informed on what is taking place with this man! As a owner of a studio in Radford and seeing Davis several times walking the streets we should be informed of information pertaining to him and all of the crime that is happening on east and west main street! If Davis has done what they have stated that he has done then by all means find him and arrest him and put our minds at peace! And, when did our down-town area become a rehabilitation area for those who have committed crimes and are drug taking or dealing folks? All that I have witnessed thus far since having my studio on west main is people who reside in apartments above businesses that are beyond comprehension at this point! Let's clean up our main streets before every business owner decides to leave and let those who thug, do drugs, sell drugs and keep committing crimes take over!
