Teams of volunteers are today combing Charlottesville, looking for any evidence that relates to the disappearance of Morgan Harrington, the Virginia Tech student who went missing at the Metallica concert last month.

The suspect in the Fort Hood shootings is identified as Nidal Malik Hasan, a Virginia Tech grad.

According to Virginia Tech records, Nidal Malik Hasan first enrolled at Virginia Tech for Summer Session II in 1992, and completed coursework in Spring Semester 1995. He received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biochemistry from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He minored in biology and chemistry.

The father of missing Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington today announced a volunteer search effort to be conducted this weekend.

Dan Harrington, along with wife Gil, asked for help from community members in the effort that will take place Friday through Sunday. Harrington did not provide specific details, but said information would soon be posted on the Web site findmorgan.com.

Virginia State Police confirmed today that missing Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington sustained a facial injury before she vanished from an Oct. 17 Metallica concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville.

State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said investigators didn't disclose the fact earlier because the injury was consistent with what a person would sustain after falling and doesn't appear to be related to her disappearance.

State police police today released a timeline of sightings of Morgan Harrington, the Virginia Tech student who went missing at the Metallica concert. They say she was last seen on a bridge near the arena. We have details from the news conference here.

Police have scheduled a briefing at 10:30 a.m. today in Charlottesville to release the timeline of events leading up to the disappearance of Morgan Harrington, the Virginia Tech student who went missing at the Metallica concert.

Metallica has added $50,000 to the reward for information related to Morgan Harrington, the Virginia Tech student who went missing at the band's recent concert in Charlottesville.

That brings the total reward fund to $150,000.
