Before you head to the polls: Election Day tools

It's Election Day in Virginia, and before you head out to vote, here's a last-minute primer on where to find your polling place, what to expect once you get there and what you'll see here on roanoke.com throughout the day.

First things first, though.

Polling places are open in Virginia from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Any voter who is in line to vote at 7 p.m., according to the State Board of Elections, will be allowed to vote.

Find your polling place: Use this tool to find your polling place, get directions and see who will be on your ballot once you get there.

Meet the candidates: Today, Virginians head to the polls to vote for governor, lieutenant governor and state attorney general. House of Delegates and local seats are also up for election. Learn more about local and statewide candidates on our 'Who's on the ballot?' page.
