UVa-Duke #6

Virginia's Clint Sintim and Ras-I Dowling are helped off the field with 11:35 left in the third quarter, presumably from cramps, and Duke marches down the field for the touchdown that puts the Blue Devils in the lead for the first time at 10-3.

  4. fourth and 1 in the first half and we don't get it, whatever happened to keith payne, or rashawn jackson. i know that doesn't solve our 5 turnover effort in the second half, but it could've been a step in the right direction

  5. Lowest point in modern UVA football history. There HAS TO BE accountablity for this.. they look totally lost and "COULD" have easily lost to I AA Richmond ( 3-0 going into the 4th quarter).

If GROH ISN't GONE AFTER THIS YEAR I"LL TRANSFER MY ALLEGENCE AND I IMAGINE OTHER FANS WILL DO THE SAME !

  6. Some say that Groh has had to face more than Welsh concerning obstacles and whatnot. Let's see, anyone remember the 1984 Peach Bowl? Who was the MVP? Where was he a year later? I believe the kicker, Barry Word, Howard Petty were all gone for cocaine. Anyone remember the 86-87 debacle before we recruited the Moore's? Yeah everyone wanted Welsh gone then. How many of us got mad at the conservative play in the 4th quarters with Welsh?

Well, what comes around goes around. You want blue chippers you pay the price with attitude, egos, and lack of academics.

However, had he not said it, this would not be an issue. BUT----where are the NATIONAL TITLES!!! Not the ACC titles that should be more important. No, not the offensive and defensive rankings that should be important, not the constant rotation of coaches that should be important, not the attempt to see how many coaches we can have in the press box at one time which should be an issue, but the National Titles. Why can't we keep players, not all of them can be considered academically inelligible or uncoachable.

Steve Spurrier didn't even beat us this bad when he was at Duke! By this time in his tenure, Welsh had a team prepped for 10 win season and the next year was ranked #1 in the polls and a Sugar Bowl berth.

Say what you want about Beamer and I've been one too. Soft schedule smedule. Stop it right now. After having 10 win seasons what is it now 10+ years in a row and winning the ACC title outright twice??!! Let's at least be big enough to give Bburg props.

I mean it's pretty sad when they have at least 4 sites wanting our coach to be there more than we do.

And if his contract is unbuyable even for the alumnus pocket books which I doubt---ala---Pete Gillen, then let's focus on his staff. Who's working and who's not. Well, Mike was a good QB in his day, but we rank last--IN THE NCAA!!!! HMM I wonder....could we get any worse....oh let's not go there we could.

WHY CAN'T WE GET A 6'0+ 200+ WR ANYMORE???!!!! WHY CAN'T WE RECRUIT IN THE TIDEWATER AREA ANYMORE???!!! PERCY HARVIN ANYONE??? If we are going to cut our losses let's put the $$$ where it should be. Basketball, and the olympic sports. Let the football go back to the 60's and 70's and leave Welsh and the boys of the 80's for the coffee house conversations for remembering when.

  7. Chad, I'm a Hokie fan. Not here to berate UVa. All schools have there ups and downs. But, if you are willing to transfer your allegiance away from UVa, then you are not a true Wahoo fan. I tell the same thing to Hokie fans who make the same threats. Good season or bad, good game or bad, those are supposed to be your guys. You should back them no matter what. In B'burg, those few that boo Sean Glennon are not true Hokie fans and if you boo your beloved Wahoos and walk out on them, you are not a true fan either.
