NOTE: VHSL (public schools) points determine at-large playoff berths and seedings for regional football playoffs. District champions automatically qualify. In the event of a tie for a district title, the Rating Scale serves as the tie-breaker. VIS (private schools) points solely determine which teams make the playoffs and the seedings. There are no automatic VIS playoff qualifiers.

It's J.I. Burton not J.J. Burton, but then again folks in Roanoke wouldn't know anyway except when it has to do with murder or corruption back in these here parts.

Having trouble remembering the playoff format.
Anybody got a diagram or just an explanation of how the Group AA Div. 3 and Div. 4 tournaments play out?

Region III playoff format is as follows:
Six teams make it in both Division 3 and Division 4.
The two highest-rated teams get first-round byes and second-round home games on the weekend of Nov. 14-15. The other four teams (No. 6 vs. No. 3, and No. 5 vs. No. 4) play each other the weekend of Nov. 7-8. Most of the time the schools elect to play on Friday, rather than Saturday.
The regional finals are the weekend of Nov. 21-22.
The points determine which teams are the higher seeds.
