Gretna fans were really surprised at how the Floyd County fans were taunting our team during warm ups before the State Title game Saturday. Being from a small Christian towm we were not use to seeing fans and parents act in such a manner. We were appalled at the way our team was treated from the start. Fortunately in the end the Hawks pervailed with the victory and the goods guys won showing that class wins in the end every time. Hopefully Floyd County learned that you should treat each opponent with respect and in the end you will be treated the same. Congrats to the Hawks on their 4th State Title in the past 6 years!!

We're really proud of our buffaloes. No matter what anybody says they're number one in everybody from floyd's (and most of Virginia) hearts. We're an amazing team and defeat is always rough but it makes it even harder when you have a lot of unsportsmanship on the field before/during/after the game. It takes pride to play a team like that but it takes class to hold your heads up high afterwards... unlike the Gretna players who choose to use unsportsman like conduct. We played some really good teams this year and each victory was better than the last and we have absolutly nothing be ashamed of. Both teams ended with a 13-1 season and it seams that Gretna acted as if undefeated. If forgoten already the Buffaloes were well undefeated 13-0 until the finals and Gretna came to the finals 12-1. Yes it's only a games difference but the pride and spirit of the buffaloes was ten times better than the rotten tone of the Hawks. The better team might of won but the better hearts walked off that field with a runnerup trophy.

I was there for the Division 5 and Division 6 games at Virginia Tech. Lots of uncommitted or unsigned talent there, mostly in the high school Classes of 2010 and 2011 for Oscar Smith and Phoebus High Schools.

Don't know if the weather made it the kind of environment that was good for Virginia Tech's football program or not.

Because Virginia Tech was busy winning the ACC Football Championship (!), Virginia Tech fans weren't there to check out any possible future Hokies in these classes. Everyone in attendance were strictly the fans of the 4 schools which were competing.

Let's hear it for the ACC Football Champions!!

It was nice to see two future Virginia Cavaliers, Perry Jones and Tim Smith (4 TD catches!) of Oscar Smith cross the goal lines of Lane Stadium. Can't UVa
get some sort of early points for that for next year's game?
