FINAL: R.E. Lee-Staunton 55, Lord Botetourt 49

VHSL Basketball Semifinals

Group AA Division 3 girls

RICHMOND -- Freshman guard Angela Mickens scored 18 points and sophomore center Daquaa Scott had all of her 12 points and 13 of her game-high 20 rebounds in the fourth quarter Tuesday as Robert E. Lee-Staunton defeated Lord Botetourt 55-49 at VCU's Siegel Center.

Lee (23-5) trailed 44-40 after three quarters but rallied behind the inside play of Scott, whose two free throws with 4:48 to play put Lee ahead for good at 47-45.

Lee will advance to Saturday's 11 a.m. championship game against Freedom, a 50-43 winner over Millbrook.
Lord Botetourt (20-9) was led by senior guard Grace Blaylock with 30 points. The UNC-Asheville signee had 18 points in the first half but was limited to just one field goal in the fourth quarter as the Cavaliers managed just five points as a team.

Scott finished with 12 offensive rebounds as Lee outrebounded Botetourt 52-33.
