FINAL: Floyd County 62, Lee 47
RICHMOND -- Brittany Avancini scored 28 points and added six assists and six steals to lead Floyd County into its third straight state championship game with a 62-47 victory over Lee at VCU's Siegel Center.
Floyd (26-3) will play George Mason for the title at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Buffaloes are the defending Division 1 champion and were the 2007 Group A runner-up.
Avancini made just 11 of 29 shots from the field but she headed up Floyd's press that forced 28 turnovers by Lee. Brittany Bourne had nine points and eight rebounds for the Buffaloes.
Chelsea Cluesman and Jalan McPherson led Lee (22-6) with 11 points apiece.
