For Friday we will comment on Virginia's new method to combat child sexual abuse with a hotline that connects people with resources.
As the news around the world travels, it is very concerning to see the reported numbers of children's death. The statistics are alarming and it seems that we as a community or a nation cannot continue to sit idly doing nothing. It is important that communities large and small become the keepers of young children who are at-risk for harmful acts of abuse or neglect. What about the child protective service?
The child protective service is only one-precautionary service that is available. This is not enough. We need awareness programs that are mandatory for all parents of young children to be involved.
It is up to the communities to develop more programs to assist with the welfare of children. Programs that will bring awareness to parents and caregivers in every household. Mandatory programs to provide support to households who may or may not recognize the needs or threats of dangers within the home structure.
Please let's not allow another child die due to careless or undetected household threats. If you are interested in working with me in this endeavor write to me ralcraig@aol.com Subject: Protect Our Children Program.
