A responsible gun registry
For Friday: It's heartening to see that since the April 16 mass shootings at Tech, the federal government's database of mentally ill people barred from buying guns has doubled. States are being more responsible. But as Virginia's experience shows, high numbers are not enough. It's critically important to get the right people on the list, while keeping the wrong people off.

I've pointed the anti-freedom finger at RT before, and clips like this indicate it's a justified action. This "pre-quel" is similar to the one on uranium mining. The title and initial statements indicate a desire or feeling by the editorial board, but the ending expresses a different (and more logical) idea.
Rather than rejoicing that the list has doubled, it would be wiser to ensure that the "right" people are on the list, and that appropriate and *feasible* measures are in-place to ensure that innocent people are not put on the list, and more importantly, can be removed expediently if placed on the list.
Too often "knee jerk" reactions are put into place after events, based on emotion rather than responsible thought, and create more problems for freedom than solutions for problems.
