Residents who want a say in local government need to make sure they are eligible to vote.
The law is what it is and must be followed even when it doesn't make much sense. Such will be the case today when Roanoke City Council appoints a member of the community to join them on council for the next two years.

I'm sorry. Virginia just doesn't have the money for new programs unless some is freed up from existing ones.
Don't you remember your past editorials? You know, the ones on transportation where you said there was no money?
You say you want fiscal responsibility; well this is it. Repeat after me: "Responsible people do not spend money they do not have."
