Floyd brewery approved
Last month there was a controversy over a proposed brewery in Floyd. Recall that a coalition of neighbors and religiously motivated haters of alcohol took their fight against the Shooting Creek Farm Brewery all the way to the state Alcohol Beverage Control Board. At the time, we urged the board to grant the permit because the brewery would be an excellent addition to the area.
The ABC board issued its decision this afternoon. It granted the application with two minor conditions. Read the whole thing.
(Brewery - Limited – 10,000 barrels or less per year)
The application for Brewery license - Limited – 10,000 barrels or less annually, is hereby GRANTED, with the conditions that:
1. The Applicant complete installation of a commercial vehicle entrance at the site and location specified in compliance with the June 4, 2008 VDOT Traffic Engineering Recommendation Survey, along with an adequate parking area for all visitors, patrons, and deliveries at a place adjacent to the side of the brewery using the new commercial entrance.
2. Signage should be erected to direct all brewery traffic, including deliveries, visitors and patrons, to use the commercial entrance and new parking area.
Entered this 12th day of September 2008.

The blood will flow like a river in Floyd now. You won't be able to walk on the sidewalks without moving aside a wall of drunken human flesh. The buzzards will circle over Floyd by the hundreds, waiting to devour the withered bodies of children denied a morsel of bread because their fathers are locked in a deadly waltz with Satan's Urine.
What time does it open?
