Zero confidence in McCain
G.V. Gibbs
Gibbs is an emeritus distinguished professor in the departments of Geosciences, Material Science and Engineering and Mathematics at Virginia Tech.
Remember the Keating Five scandal of the late 1980s involving the five United States senators Dennis DeConcini, John Glenn, Donald Riegle, Alan Cranston and John McCain who were accused of improperly aiding Charles H. Keating, chairman of the failed Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which was the target of an investigation by the Federal Home Loan Bank Board.

The more I read from VA Tech professors, the less confidence I have in them to educate my children.

I'm wondering if Professor Gibbs in equally outraged about Obama being the top recipient of Fannie Mae contributions the past three years, as well as his close relationship with former CEOs of that agency.
Somehow, I doubt it.
Eugene,
I am equally alarmed at the political activism of Tech professors. You hope your kids will pick majors that attract few liberals, like the hard sciences. When a liberal writes in from Engineering or Math, that's a bit scary. Fortunately, this guy is retired.

I think you just need to look around. Look around and ask why are major companies relocating jobs outside of the Roanoke valley.
Why can we not attract quality talent to fill the jobs available. What does the Roanoke Valley offer a small (or large) business owner that needs quality workers. Workers that a want challenging stimulating environment for their workers, their families and their children. The mountains are only going to work so far. The reality of the situation speaks more than I ever could. Now, what have you done to help solve the problem and are you perhaps part of the problem?
