What do you want to talk about today?

  1. It's upsetting if the empty suit manchild benefits from an economic situation he and the Democrats caused. That Bush and the GOP could be blamed when they were the ones sounding the warnings is unbelievable. And you know the amoral MSM will perpetuate that lie.

My concern is what happens if Obama wins then stacks socialism on top of an ailing economy. This situation occurred with FDR. It's why a garden-variety slowdown turned into the decade-long Great Depression.

Making matters worse is that Obama is the least-qualified candidate in 100 years. Obviously the talking points have been handed down to Dan, et al. such that we have a full-scale attack on Sarah Palin 24/7, trying to diminish her. The point, of course, is to divert attention away from the manchild's abject record of experience and competence.

McCain should be hammering Obama and the Democrats for being almost wholly responsible for this meltdown. He missed a golden opportunity to explain this mess to the American people, how it started and how it got to where it is.

Yeah, I'm worried if this group of deceitful crooks gets rewarded for their chicanery by getting even broader and greater control.

Somebody asked why I bother with this blog, if the editors aggravate me so much. It's simple. It's one small thing I can do to help get the truth out, against this tide of misinformation.

  2. The Truth according to Josh:

"McCain should be hammering Obama and the Democrats for being almost wholly responsible for this meltdown. He missed a golden opportunity to explain this mess to the American people, how it started and how it got to where it is."

The Truth according to house republicans:

"House Republican Leader John Boehner said, "I do believe that we could have gotten there today, had it not been for this partisan speech that the Speaker gave on the floor of the House. I mean, we were -- we put everything we had into getting the votes to get there today, but the Speaker had to give a partisan voice that poisoned our conference, caused a number of members who we thought we could get to go south."

Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor followed Boehner, and brandished his own copy of Pelosi's speech when seconding his leader's analysis. "Right here is the reason I believe why this vote failed," Cantor said, "and this is Speaker Pelosi's speech that frankly struck the tone of partisanship that frankly was inappropriate in this discussion."

The Truth According to Repub Congresswoman Bachmann:

"I want to assure you that was not the case. We are not babies who suck our thumbs. We have very principled reasons for voting no."

If they were principled - as Bachmann points out - then how is it Pelosi's fault for giving a speech? And how does it become Pelosi's responsibility to "deliver" these votes??

I hope nobody's head explodes with so much "truth" flying around.

As far as "deceitful crooks", I assume we're talking about Charles Keating or Rick Davis or Karl Rove of DOJ Attorney firing infamy or the lies that brought us the trillion dollar Iraq War?

So Bush's republican bailout proposal didn't garner the republican votes needed to pass and some repubs voted either because their feelings were hurt ot they were principled - and we shouldn't blame the GOP for trying their darnedest to save us from their prior efforts to save us from lending to "unqualified minorities"?

    Truth?

  3. The $700B bailout money should go to the homeowners to pay down their mortgages and stay in their homes. Then cap all the CEOs salaries and bonuses of every corporation so they can't make more than 30x that of their lowest paid employee. The 'extra' bonus money can then go back to pay off the $700B. After the $700B is paid off then the bonus money can continue to be filtered into communities. This idea is based on the "Conscious Capitolism model" adopted by the hugely successful corporation Whole Foods. An article on this model was written by John Mackay. It can be found here: http://creationcoach.com/pdfs/Conscious%20Capitalism_John%20Mackey.pdf

  6. Josh,

Instead of fearing Obama and the democrats you could realistically consider where the republican party has taken us.

7.5 years of zero oversight resulting in this mess we have now.

The constitution ignored while the supreme being (Bush) did what hew wanted without regard to the rule of law or peoples lives.

The strongest, greatest country in the world forced to its knees without so much as a whimper or warning from the president.

The wealthiest 1% of the population gaining substantially more than the middle or lower classes.

And look at who you believe should be the next pres: McCain has flip flopped so much in the last 2 weeks I am not sure what position he'll take next. His judgment was flawed on a VP choice, his campaign has no strategy, he offers no leadership (despite his assurances otherwise. He canceled day one of the rep convention, he suspended his campaign, he wanted to cancel the debate. These are all smoke screens for his ineptitude, failing campaign and foolish judgments.

I respect the fact that he was a war hero but honestly I would fear him more than I do three more months of Bush.

  8. As November 4 fast approaches, I believe we need to revisit the medical records of John McCain.

We have a 72 year old presidential candidate who has had 4 bouts with Melanoma - which as many know is a very aggressive form of cancer.

The campaign made medical records available, resulting in this quote from CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta:

"We were given three hours to go over 1,200 pages of records. That is a lot to go through. It was very sort of cloak and dagger and I'm sure they had their reasons. Given that I had my medical training, I was able to hone in on what it thought was important more quickly. But the pages weren't numbered, so I had no way of knowing what was missing... As a reporter I can only comment on what I saw but I can't say by any means that this was complete... As far as the secretiveness of it, what they said to us is that you can't take anything out of the room, but you could make notes. So it was a lot to go through in a short period of time."

This quasi-release of medical records predates the campaign's selection of Sarah Palin as what an increasing number of GOP loyalists and conservatives are agreeing was a disastrous choice.

With the unfortunate reality being that actuary tables indicate a 72 year old would have a 1 in 3 chance of not surviving an additional 8 years, the American people deserve to have a closer look at these medical records before the election.

The New England Journal of Medicine in its October 5, 1995 Issue, published: "The Health of the President and Presidential Candidates — The Public's Right to Know". The article suggests that presidential candidates have become more and more stingy with their medical records.

    And you may recall:

"Senator Paul Tsongas had a secret when he ran in the 1992 Democratic presidential primary—his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma had returned despite a bone-marrow transplant. Yet Tsongas and his physicians continued to claim he was “cancer-free” and his true medical condition became public only after his campaign folded. Had voters elected him president instead of Bill Clinton, Tsongas would have endured crippling cancer treatments and died in office, as he did just a few years later. “I don’t know if he could have even gone to the inauguration. It would have been a public policy disaster,” says Robert Gilbert, a political science professor at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass."

While we're at it - let's see Obama, Biden, and Palin's too.

  9. I agree with Marked Man...

Are we sure that's Biden though? Hard to tell - not that I can't picture him doing this.

The Leprechaun looks an awful lot like Lindsey Graham.

Oh that's right. He didn't release his complete records.

  12. I continue to be amazed by the number of people that defend McCain's selective release of information undermining our laws in the process. Allowing his VP pick to refuse grand jury testimony. Trying to use this national disaster of the financial system to his political advantage. Recklessly and deliberately passing non truths to the press and expecting thinking citizens to not recognize it.

  13. Joe,

"7.5 years of zero oversight resulting in this mess we have now."

Sorry, the GOP called for more oversight no fewer than a dozen times since 2001. They were rebuffed by the Democrats, specifically Dodd, Frank, and Schumer. Democrats ran Fannie Mae, and Democrats in Congress received the most in donations, headed by your buddy, Barack.

Tell us what makes you think Obama has the experience or knowledge to run the country, Joe. Tell us what he would do for the country's economy. Tell us how he would protect America.

You haven't a clue how, because Obama hasn't a clue how.

    Comment by Josh — September 30, 2008 @ 3:45 pm

  14. Josh,

I am curious how you came to the conclusion that Obama "hasn't a clue".

You overlook his Princeton credentials, which are greater than McCain and Palin combined. You are excluding his intelligence, first required to be accepted to the school and second to complete the program.

Are you, perhaps basing you evaluation on the color of his skin? If not, what is you do not like or are unhappy with?

  15. Josh:

So the Republicans are for Government oversight? Do you mean regulation?

Who received more money from Fannie and Freddie:

    Barack Obama, or
    Davis Manafort and Rick Davis?

Who received a check from them most recently?

If you took a portion of the time you spend spewing nonsense on the RT and looked at Obama's website - you would have answers to your questions.

As to protecting America - are you suggesting that "Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran" is going to keep us safe because he seems to like war so much?

  17. "If not, what is you do not like or are unhappy with?"

    Joe,

Do a little research. Obama is, at best, a socialist, at worst a Marxist. Voted the most liberal senator by his peers. Many of his talking points can be found in Marx' Manifesto. He's a former 'community activist/extortionist right out of the Chicago political machine. He believes that government is the answer to everyones wants and needs.

    Any other questions?

  18. Blue,

I enjoy your post for two reasons:
    1) Its a refreshing reprieve from the usual campaign chatter, and

    2) We need a few more people like this. A refreshing change from those that just would have sat on the shore crying "oh the humanity" and "I never thought it could happen here".

  19. Wow. I just saw the vid of the kids singing praise to NObama. Yeah, it's creepy all right.

You hate when little kids get used like that. Reminds me of the 10-year-old they programmed to bash Bush in an S-Chip ad.

  20. Josh:

I guess you missed my post earlier - or chose to ignore the clear problem with your FOX-fed assertions.

I thought I'd put here to see if you can go beyond just random posting of Limbaugh/Hannity/O'Reilly talking points...

So the Republicans are for Government oversight? Do you mean regulation?

Who received more money from Fannie and Freddie:

    Barack Obama, or
    Davis Manafort and Rick Davis?

Who received a check from them most recently?

Comment by Concerned for the Future — October 1, 2008 @ 10:52 am

  21. Joe,

I came to the conclusion Obama hasn't a clue about running the country because he's never had any experience running anything. His legislative of achievement is zilch. His business accomplishments are nonexistent.

As for his "Princeton credentials", uh, he never attended Princeton. In fact, we don't know what his grades were in college since he won't release them.

As for race? I would vote for Condi Rice in a heartbeat. She is a person of great accomplishment and experience. Notice nobody on our side brings up race. It's always you liberals. Very telling, I'd say.

    Concerned,

Lot of lobbyists received money from Fannie. Most were Democrat. As far as lawmakers, NOBODY got more money than Obama the past three, and only one, Chris Dodd, has gotten more since 1989. Obama is a close second.

I have a friend who is well-informed, but fairly apolitical. He was shocked to hear Obama was the biggest recipient of money from Fannie Mae. I think it's shocking that the MSM never so much as mentions this.
