No, really, it's Barack Obama
Maybe my funny bone's easily tickled this morning, but I found this pretty funny: President-elect Barack Obama called a U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., and the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, to congratulate her on her re-election and say he was looking forward to working with her on the committee.
She listened to him for about a minute, then said she wasn't going to fall for a hoax, but thought he was a better Obama impersonator than the guy on Saturday Night Live. Then she hung up on him. She then hung up on Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel (who, presumably she knew from his time in the House of Representatives). Only when the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee called did she become convinced it wasn't a hoax.
I guess after that unfortunate Sarah Palin incident, you can't blame her for being cautious.

The American President is one of my favorite movies. The scene where the President calls Sydney on the phone and she thinks it's her brother imitating him is a good one. Another good one is the final scene in the Fifth Element where the president answers a phone from Korben's mother and identifies himsel as the President. The mother says "Oh, please. That doesn't even sound like him! The President's an idiot, you don't sound like an idiot. If you don't wanna talk to your mother, just avoid me like usual, huh? I'll just throw myself in traffic. I'll just Saran Wrap myself to the bed and pretend my child is suffocating me... "

That was a hoot, and good on him for not just giving up. I have seen her on "Politically Incorrect" and she really is a pistol.
