Crash: Too soon to find fault
Roberto Montanez
Montanez is an aerospace engineer and a private pilot. He lives in Roanoke.
Debra Shipman's letter to the editor on Feb. 24 concerning the unfortunate accident involving the Colgan Air (operated as Continental Connection Flight 3407) is disappointing and unfair to the thousands of people who fly, maintain, secure, manage and regulate the aviation industry in this country ("Pilot's inexperience may be to blame").

Montanez is dead on with this one. I have to wonder if the recent plane crash into the Hudson didn't give the false notion that pilots can always "safely" crash and save everyone and therefore when a plane crashes and there are deaths, it must be the pilot's fault. There was a big deal about the Hudson River crash because it's not all that common for everyone to walk away safely the way that they were able to.
And yes let's find out the reason of the crash before we staring pointing fingers and making calls to our law makers.
