I know I mentioned this before, the VDOT project cost for those roundabouts includes a lot of additional work, not just the roundabouts themselves. The Blacksburg project includes the re-work of over a half mile of roadway, 2 new traffic signals, utility work, right of way purchasing, landscaping, paving, and the roundabout (a small portion of the total cost). Plus, the funding used for that project and others belong to the locality, they have saved the funds up to construct them. It is not simply something that can be canceled and shifted to rest areas.
