A really bad metaphor
When told that health care reform looks like a "train leaving the station with President Obama at the wheel," recently on Fox News, GOP Chairman Michael Steele responded, "I'm the cow on the tracks. You're gonna have to stop that train to get this cow off the track to move forward."
Apparently, Steele isn't too familiar with what happens to cows that go head-to-head with trains.
Follow this link for an example. The video itself isn't graphic, but there is some bad language from the engineer.

maybe he's a bigger cow

It was a bad metaphor. I'd think referring to 0bama as Casey Jones would have been more apt.

A bad metaphor or he is trying to get PETA after Obama for being a cow killer. Axelrod strategy it sounds like.
Comment by Uptheriver — October 14, 2009 @ 2:11 pm
Maybe he said it because many Dems have no problem with the slaughter of living beings that they feel are 'insignificant' or that 'inconvenience' them??

That engineer could have very well been describing Mr. Steele. What WAS he thinking?

Now I do love steak!

If Mr. Steele is the cow on the tracks I would say he might be telling more about his party.
Maybe in in the next election they can find some more candidates that have more substance and not pick such mental light weights as Sarah Palin.

That's it exactly. The Democrats are so ruthless, that even in the name of "compassion", they will run people over to achieve their political objectives. It's a perfect metaphor for these hypocrites.

I'm thinking 2009 AND 2010 are looking PRETTY good for the GOP right about now...0bama IS what we thought he was.
Now, Russia is talking PRE-EMPTIVE Nuclear strikes. Sweet, sweet diplomacy.
Oh yeah, it was a bad, bad, metaphor.

#7 - I'm no fan of Sarah, but I find it hard to imagine that someone can become Governor of a state by being a "mental lightweight".

It didn't stop George W. Bush.

Well i would be inclined to agree Patrick except.... ours thinks that Virginia borders Delaware. *sigh*

8# yes metamorphically we will.

What comes around, goes around...so they say. 0bama and the Dems arrogance will be their undoing. The PEOPLE spoke in August and on Sept. 12th.
Mock them at your own peril. Unfortunately, the Dem-Soc leadership is forcing us into rarely seen (in this country) territory. I hope they don't push too far.

#14 Your "Dem-Soc leadership" thing is another reason why those from the right are loosing some kind of creditability. If there is something as to a point please make it. But for arrogance all one has to do is look back at the Bush years. There is a new book called, The Shadow Factory by James Bamford, take a look at one. Good book on intel after 9/11.
But this new territory you talk of and being pushed too far could you tell us a bit more? I hope it is not what some of my right wing friends say sometimes, "they should be shot." I had a friend say that when he saw all these demonstrators on the TV and was talking about it and said just that. I told him, "well I was there, are you going to shot me?"

15 bush is old news, its all on bam bam now and he is just another whiny socialist
Comment by pammala — October 15, 2009 @ 4:17 pm
#16 true ,but there is a reason why we are where we are and not to look at those 8 dark years is to have ones head in the sand.
But as to whiny you might want to look at those who try to yell out the rest of us.If one disagrees that's fine but remember what your mother might say. Nothing wrong with being polite.

The Dems are eager to run roughshod over their fellow citizens rightfully opposing liberal healthcare reform. And regarding the "mental lightweight" comment, at least Palin and Bush won their offices rather than gained undeserved noteriarty from inappropriate promises and a fake, politically motivated Nobel award.

Mental lightweight is probably going too far. But then so is talking about her as presidential material. God help us if we ever elect her.

Bush doesnt need defending, but, I love how people say "8 dark years". Those who say such things show their ignorance. The economy was GREAT for about 6 and a half of them, until the Fannie and Freddie bomb went off.
No attacks after 9/11, despite the Left's constant rage and attacks and dare I say, sabotage.
Anyways, its become a favorite LIE of the Left to say it. Who took over Congress in 2006? What happened to the price of gas at that time? The economy? etc.
Sorry for looking backward, we really should be facing ahead, as horrifying as it is having a child as a leader.
Somebody needs to explain to me why NOTHING Barry has done has worked, but only made things WORSE.
Unemployment, the real measure of an economy, is over 10%. Whats up?
The world's dictators are laughing at Barry every day and pushing their will without respect or FEAR of our country. Yes, I said FEAR. They know Barry is weak.
Every 10 years or so the people of this country FORGET what it is like having a Leftist wimp run our country...they get tired of the GOP (after 10 years of power, loss of focus and POOR Presidential candidates, a GOP loss is justified) and they want something different.
But, it only takes a few months of a liberal Dem-Soc in charge to realize it was a HUGE mistake, again. Oh well.
