Zweifel: Iran's nukes

Let Iran continue its nuclear program

Zweifel, of Radford, is a university distinguished professor emeritus of physics and nuclear engineering at Virginia Tech.

Although I have not worked in the weapons field for many years, I feel that my past experience there is enough to give me a reasonable idea of what is going on in Iran, vis-a-vis its nuclear programs. It is indeed possible that Iran might soon be able to construct a limited number of nuclear weapons (perhaps one a year beginning a few years in the future). But is this any cause for alarm? What could Iran hope to do with such a small number of fission (kiloton) weapons?

  2. GFK What did Iran do to you? Could it be you are concerned with their ability to control the oil supply? Or maybe force the switch of the currencyh to the Euro from the dollar? Or are you just concerned about Israel? If the latter I have a real problem with it as the first tow are the real problems. Have we set them up for this, of course, just like our greed always has, so lets bomb, bomb, bomb Iran and not consider how we got to this place.

  3. All of those three are problems. But how about the fact that Iran has been at war with the US since 1979? I think that is provocation enough.
