About the editorial staff of The Roanoke Times
Dan Radmacher: Driven from a brief stint in Florida by hurricanes and fire ants, Dan Radmacher came to Roanoke in March 2005. Prior to moving to Florida, Radmacher spent 10 years as editorial page editor of the Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette.

Elizabeth Strother: A native of St. Louis, Elizabeth Strother has been a Roanoker since 1978. She worked as a copy editor, assistant city editor and news editor at The Roanoke Times before joining the newspaper's editorial board in 1993.

Luanne Traud: Luanne Traud joined The Roanoke Times editorial board in June 2005. In a previous life, she worked on newspapers in Alabama and Tennessee before returning to her native Pennsylvania in 1987, where she worked first as a reporter and later as an editorial page editor. The breathtaking beauty of Virginia and the charm of her people lured Traud to return to the South.

Christian Trejbal: Christian Trejbal joined the editorial board in 2005. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he knows his Yankee ways will sometimes rub the wrong way. Before arriving in Southwest Virginia, he wrote editorials for a newspaper in Oregon. Before that, he spent way too much time in school studying philosophy, history and mathematics.
