I don't know what's worse: Feminists having hissy fits because Barry Obama called a Detroit TV reporter "sweetie" or 90-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela on U.S. terrorist watch lists.
Do tell.
A follow-up on our informal game of Democratic VP roulette: VaGuy weighed in saying that HairBoy (John Edwards) would be a poor choice, citing HairBoy's less-than-stellar veep run four years ago. He floated the name of Sam Nunn, the retired senator from Georgia.

I read some quotes of what Obama said, with a little context. Didn't seem like a big deal (and I don't even like the guy). I'm not used to it being used in that setting (where one would expect the candidate to have a bit more formal decorum), but perhaps it's typical where he's from.
More interesting from me, speaking of VP roulette, was a possible McCain-Huckabee ticket. Of the major contenders from the GOP race, I liked Huckabee the most (or is it, disliked the least?) Will McCain pick Huckabee or Lieberman?

I, for one, would like to suggest Jim Webb, who's tough, straightforward, and could get a handle on the military, leaving President Obama to deal with our economic,domestic and foreign turmoil. Of course, this would mean depleting the Senate's majority by one as well as a dynamic Senator for Virginia. Of course, there's Mark Warner, another asset for Virginia in its future. Then, there's Gov. Tim Kaine, a honest and ethical leader. Sam Nunn is also a great suggestion, somewhat an older version of Jim Webb. I don't know if he would be interested in the rigors of campaigning. John Edwards would be a good suggestion, but he took too long to get on the bandwagon, making somewhat of a lackluster appearance at the last minute. I don't know if his family would be up to this challenge...again. Whomever is selected, I am sure they will meet the test of mettle to assist President Obama in restructuring this great nation to proceed into the ever demanding future.

Local (NoVA) Fox station listed three predicted contenders for VP for Obama and McCain (hah, no predicts for Clinton...go figure).
I wasn't too surprised to see Bloomberg under the Obama column...

It's just pathetic that the Obama campaign and it's supporters are trying to make hay out of this nothing. They're acting so desperate, it's hard to believe he's the front runner for President.
Presidential candidate Clinton has ran the gambit of using insensitive comments for the Oval Office and by far this is the absolute worst. I am sorry if you chose not to post this, but this woman is so "Greedy for Power" she would virtually entice someone with the thought of murder to gain the White House is just Horrible.
And for her supporters to say "it's nothing" is truly scary.

Hillary allowed Bill to embarrass her not just in her community with a random girl, if so they could just move away. No!! She allowed him to embarrass her in front of the "Whole Wide World". She did nothing, she allowed him to walk, roll, run all over her, what did she do about it? I'll tell you what she did, nothing! If he was my husband, he would be a dead president!
He would have choked on the very black dress Monica wore, because I would have shoved it down his throat. She allowed her husband to embarrass her in front of the entire "International Community".
She couldn't stand up to him, how will she stand up for us?

One has to remember that both professional wrestlers and lawyers get on the same bus after the event is over. This is the same with politicians that know even their worst enemy might be their best helpmate. Hillary appeals to certain groups of people and she has given inspiration to many females that have a lot to offer in our society. Obama would have a positive outcome to consider her as the fight really hasn't started with McCain. If its now nasty now it soon will be. It really boils down the to bumper sticker "Bush's Third Term, McCain". I think we have all had enough of the last 7 1/2 years to fill a lifetime. Let's look to young new blood to offer a new prospective and ideas. We will need this to lead us out of the mess we are now faced.
