Live blog from the Palin rally in Salem

We have a live blog underway from the Sarah Palin rally at the Salem Football Stadium. For the latest reports on what's happening, click here.

We also have a photo gallery from the event as it unfolds.

Earlier, we had a post about people arriving early to get into the stadium.

Are you going? Or are you there (and reading this on your web-friendly phone?) If you have photos of people from Salem or western Roanoke County at the event, you can share at news@sosalem.com.

We also have posts about people from Botetourt County and Southwest Roanoke County who arrived early.

Our community journalist for Salem, Miranda Adkins, is down on the field, and promises lots of photos later in the evening, so check back for more -- or share your own!

By the way, Mike Stevens from the City of Salem provides this info on the largest crowds at the stadium -- we'll see how this event winds up comparing:

Biggest crowds:

* 2003 – Franklin Graham Festival • Estimated 53,000 in three days • More than 15,000 on May 3, 2003

*  1989 –10,000 plus for Salem-Graham Football

* 1991 – 8,500 fans for Salem-Spotsylvania state final

* 2001 – 7,992 fans for Bridgewater - Mt. Union in Stagg Bowl
