Veterans Day at G.W. Carver Elementary
While G.W. Carver Elementary didn't hold an elaborate ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11, they showed their support for their veterans in other ways, including a memorial wall and a snack collection for the VA Hospital.
Their memorial wall was filled quickly with names of veterans from their family and friends. When other schools, like Salem High, learned of the wall, they sent their stars to Carver, too. Veterans visiting their children and grandchildren for lunch stopped to see where they were on the wall, Principal Trula Byington said.
