Salem folks complete Master Gardener coursework

Seven Salem folks were recognized on Tuesday, Nov. 11 for completing the coursework in order to become a Master Gardener. They must complete their internship hours to be full Master Gardeners.

They are, from left to right:

Louis Ribble, Jenny Frei, Connie Stone (retired from West Salem Elementary School), Cindy Reynolds (also a West Salem retiree), Ronald Oetgen (retired from Roanoke College and married to a West Salem retiree), James Holtman (lives in Craig but grew up in Salem and has family in Salem), and Jim Washenberger (retired from Va. Tech).

Submitted by Diane Washenberger.

If you know of somebody doing great things in Salem, let us know at news@sosalem.com so that we can figure out a way to recognize them. We can't arrange a parade in their honor, but we could write a story about them!
