"Live burn" exercise tonight is final exam for firefighters
Roanoke County Fire & Rescue sends us this release about a "live burn" exercise taking place tonight on Kessler Mill Road:
WHAT: Roanoke Valley Regional Fire-EMS Career Academy #11 will participate in a live burn practical training exercise tonight. The recruits have spent several months receiving instruction and practical training in the areas of basic firefighter skills to emergency medical basic training and now will get a chance to put their book work to practice in a live burn exercise. Recruits will participate in several scenarios throughout tonight's seven hour exercise.
WHO: Recruits from Roanoke County, Salem and Roanoke City will participate in the live burn training exercise along with instructors.
WHEN: TONIGHT -starting at 5 p.m. until approximately midnight
