Eight Salem area teens from Salem and Glenvar high schools won prizes for thinking of a slogan that emphasizes the prevention of teen pregnancy. The top three winners will receive gift certificates to Target, and places four through ten won $10 gift certificates to Chik-Fil-A.

"We had a hard time choosing because we had some really good entries," said teen pregnancy prevention coordinator Brooks Michael. The Better Beginnings Coalition chose the slogans without seeing any other information about the students. "Teen pregnancy is a serious issue, and this is one way that we had the students think about it and get involved."
