Scholarship applications for 2009-10 for medical or dental students available soon
Students interested in pursuing a career in the medical or dental professions may look to scholarship help from Health Focus of Southwest Virginia.
For the current academic year, Health Focus is providing scholarships totaling $170,000 to deserving students. Health Focus, formerly known as Lewis Gale Foundation, has awarded a total of $2.33 million to more than 3700 students over the past 43 years. Scholarship recipients attend any of 30 schools, including the Jefferson College of Health Sciences, Virginia Western Community College, the University of Virginia, Edward Via College of Osteopathy, Lenoir-Rhyne College, and Danville Community College. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and on potential for completing a health career program and are given primarily to Virginia students attending schools in Virginia.
Scholarship applications for the 2009-2010 academic year will be available in February.
