Happy New Year 2009 from Annie Lin of Salem
"New Year Eve"
Everywhere, everywhere: auld lang syne tonight.
We look forward to the future: all shines so very bright.
We sing our song: they make us merry.
Perhaps more wine than one should carry.
We cast our memory back: to those we loved so well.
Many we shall never forget: we always hear their bell.
As our Years pass by: we seek what might have been.
If we could only live it: just a single time again!
To see their smiling faces: enjoy them even more.
My Mama and my Papa, standing at the door.
My children playing in the snow: like they used to do.
All had their happy times: their futures not a clue.
All of our tomorrows: for just one yesterday?
For those we remember : our souls will always pray.
And so far all of us: New Year's Eve tonight.
Indeed, let us all enjoy our memory of life's delight.
