Last chance to see Carol Phillips' work at Roanoke College art gallery

Rush on over to the Olin Gallery at Roanoke College before Friday, Jan. 9 to see an art exhibit by local artist C.J. Phillips. The gallery is open from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, except on holidays and while college offices are closed.

Phillips operates the Patton-Phillips gallery across the street from the Taubman Museum of Art in downtown Roanoke.

In other Salem-related gallery news, Taliaferro Logan, Roanoke College's gallery director, will be putting up one of her first local exhibits at Hollins University this week.

The artworks she'll display are all inspired by the book Georgianna, written by her grandmother, Faye Logan.

Faye Logan will sign her book in a special opening reception at 6 p.m. this Thursday, Jan. 8. A lecture by Taliaferro Logan will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 in the auditorium at the Richard Wetherill Visual Arts Center at Hollins.
