Photos: Salem Red Sox honor military families
Here areĀ a few photos I took at the Salem Red Sox game on June 14. The Sox had partnered with the Military Family Support Center to offer a free ticket and meal voucher to any active, non-active, or retired military person and their family. According to Jeremy Auker, Asst. MG/Group Sales, they had about 300 take advantage of this offer. They also had representatives from the Army National Guard, local Army Reserves band and color guard,E SGR and Military Family Support Center. In the photo are members of the US Navy Sea Cadets, Rke division. L to R Alex Pasiecznik, Charley Greeley, Kayla Smith and John Bowles. I also got to meet Lindsay Morris, Miss Roanoke Valley 2009, who is representing the Roanoke Valley at the Miss Virginia State Pageant on June 27. She was helping raise money for the Children's Miracle Network which goes to the Children's Hospital at Carilion Roanoke Memorial. The other photo is of a couple military guys participating in the Boxing match. It looks like there was a clear winner and loser. The other photos are of the Sox during the game.
