Henna art at the library? Salem Public Library has more in store for teens
The Salem Public Library has an interesting schedule of events slated for July for teens.
In June, Sally Edleman taught a henna class - she explained some henna history, the process of making henna tattoos, and then everybody got to make their own henna tattoo! Pretty cool, huh?
Here are the fun events left for this summer:
July 1: Duct Tape Craft: 2-4 p.m.
Duct Tape Crafts will be a creative way to make items out of duct tape. We will be making wallets, bags and other items that will be designed by the teens.July 10: Teen Mystery Night, 5-7 p.m. (signup required)
Teen Mystery Night is called "Pharoahs Curse". A mystery about an attempted murder of the homecoming queen.
July 13: Summer Olympics for girls, 2-4 p.m. (signup required)
Summer Olympics for girls one week and guys another week. Teens will compete in the Wii Summer Olympics with their favorite Wii character in attempt to win the gold.
July 16: Teen Scrapbooking, 1-3 p.m. ($5 cost and signup required)
We will be having a scrapbooking program for teens. The program will cost $5.00 to help cover the cost for the scrapbook. Bring no less than 15 photos and learn how to put together a great scrapbook.
July 20: Summer Olympics for boys, 2-4 p.m. (signup required)
July 24: Amazing Race, 5-7 p.m. (signup required)
The Amazing Race is an exciting program that will lead you on a journey all over the Salem Public Library. You will be looking for clues and competing in games to see who can make it to the finish line in the least amount of time. The team that finishes first will win a trip to a great destination. No, not Hawaii.
July 30: Rock Band, 2-4 p.m.
Rock Band will be a XBox 360 games where teens will work together to become the Salem Teen American Idols for the 2009 Express Yourself Summer Champions. Express yourself with your musical talents.
