Talking tarps: How do you feel about ballpark changes?
So now that you've had a chance to let the new Fenway feel of the Salem Red Sox sink in, what do you think about the changes that the Salem Red Sox have made?
At the beginning of the season, it was reported that the Salem Red Sox were going to cover over 2,000 seats with tarps to create a more "intimate" ballpark field. As it turns out, the correct number was about 1,000 seats covered.
Either way, attendance this year is up -- sportswriter Katrina Waugh has a story about that in this morning's Roanoke Times. And sports columnist Aaron McFarling still thinks the tarps are a bad idea.

I'm glad the Sox are doing well; but unfortunately, they aren't going to take off those stupid tarps unless people start staying away from the games AND LETTING THE MANAGEMENT KNOW THAT'S WHY!

Get rid of those tarps. It's OUR ballparks and we shouldn't have to put up with this. Those Yankees may like to sit close together, but us Southerners prefer more spread out. It's not fair that I should be sat next to those bratty kids that go back and forth in front of me 50 times a game and spill my food, nor should I have to put up with the drunk man to my left. It's ruined what was once a good ballpark.
