Photos: Honoring the chief
During Chief James R. Bryant's last month at his post, folks from the community are proclaiming big "thank yous" as they commend him for his service to the city over the last 43 years. He became Salem's Chief of Police in 1995, and he will hand over command to the new Chief, Jeff Dudley, on November 1.
Salem City Council adopted resolution 1145 to commend Chief Bryant for his service to the community, and the Salem City School Board adopted a resolution number 184, which also mentions his service to the schools in his being the first Salem Camp D.A.R.E. director.
