Reinventing the Gap

Gap shoppers probably have noticed the latest changes in fall fashion picks at the men and women's apparel chain.

Shoppers are closely watching the changes made by a new designer Patrick Robinson. He’s the third designer to try to reinvent the Gap, which is losing once loyal customers next to competitors such as Abercrombie & Fitch.

This new look already has come to the Gap at Valley View Mall in Roanoke. Mannequins near the front of the store model simple yet fashionable shades of gray, brown and other dark colors, in the form of long sweaters, trench coats and multi-colored scarves.

Check out this story about the push to turn-around the Gap. What do you think about the retailer's new look?

  1. Sounds like the fashion world is full of drama!

I am so out of touch I didn't even realize that the Gap wasn't cool anymore until I read that article! I have never gone into Abercrombie, it seems like their clothes are just so SMALL. I have hips and just don't think I would fit in any of them.

  2. We moved here from Arizona and I recall entering the Abercrombie store only once at the mall in Chandler. The music was so loud I could not remember what I even walked in there to buy, and the t-shirts were so short they all came up under my armpits. I LOVE THE GAP... always have.. Was just in there yesterday and bought a great scarf... going back today for a second. The staff were actually grown-ups too! I'll be visiting them often. Oh, by the way.. they had great looking jeans too!

  3. I haven't been fond of the Gap since college (10 years ago), so I checked out their website since I liked Patrick Robinson's collection for Target. Everything looks SO much better! Here's hoping sales will come through. I have my eye on a couple of jackets.
